BIT LAYER 0.5.9

BIT LAYER now appears under "Riverflux Audio" in your DAW's plugin list, where it used to say "Bitlayer Audio". Some DAWs only show the new name after a plugin rescan.

Windows installer: you choose the VST3 and CLAP folders (the standard ones are filled in), and it asks you to close an open DAW first.

Sound, parameters, presets and saved projects are unchanged. Projects saved with 0.5.8 or earlier open as before.

BIT LAYER 0.5.8

Windows: the plugin uses much less memory and less processor time with its window open. Two instances with their windows open take about 60 MB, where 0.5.7 took about 200 MB.

Zero latency by default: a new instance starts on the Low Latency engine. Mixing is still there, bottom right. Projects saved with Mixing open in Mixing.

Windows installer: no folder questions, a plain message when something stops it, and the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime is no longer installed because the plugin does not need it.

Linux: runs from glibc 2.31 (Ubuntu 20.04, Debian 11). The installer accepts a home folder, ~/.vst3 or ~/.clap that is a link, and shows a message box when started without a terminal.

macOS: Intel Macs from macOS 10.13. Apple silicon from macOS 11.

The manual is shorter.

Sound, plugin identity, parameters and saved projects are unchanged.
